Profile |
Ian Parry is Technical Assistance Advisor on Climate Change and Environmental Policy in the Fiscal Affairs Department of the International Monetary Fund. He was previously at RFF where he was first appointee to the Allen V. Kneese Chair in Environmental Economics (Parry remains a senior fellow at RFF). His research focuses on climate and environmental policy, transportation policy, and energy policy.
For example, he has studied the cost-effectiveness of alternative climate mitigation policies; the appropriate balance between environmental taxes and broader fiscal policies; climate policy and technological innovation; the optimum taxation of motor vehicles; and the cost-effectiveness of policies to reduce oil dependence.
