Yusuke Kuwayama
Yusuke Kuwayama’s research focuses on the economics of environmental regulation, with an emphasis on water resources and ecosystems. His work seeks to understand how the interaction between economic and natural systems affects the efficiency of policy instruments to regulate environmental externalities. Using theoretical and numerical modeling, he analyzes whether accounting for the complexity of environmental processes in economic optimization problems yields policy recommendations that are different from those currently offered in the literature, and whether management practices that reflect these differences will lead to better economic and environmental outcomes.
