WASHINGTON—A new blog post out today by Resources for the Future (RFF) Senior Fellows Josh Linn and Alan Krupnick contains a letter signed by 95 leading economists and lawyers with deep background and experience in environmental and regulatory policy. The letter was sent Monday, May 22, to several top officials for regulatory matters in the new administration, including OMB Director Mick Mulvaney and EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt. The signers express concern about the administration’s recent Executive Order (13771) on regulatory reform. The letter also includes suggestions for improving both new and existing regulations.

Some of the signers are from RFF and some include former officials of the Council of Economic Advisers and the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs. Most are from universities. The views expressed in the letter are their own and should not be attributed to their respective institutions.
