New RFF Blog Series Starts Today on President Trump’s Vehicle Standards
WASHINGTON, DC—RFF Senior Fellows Alan Krupnick, Joshua Linn, and Virginia McConnell today posted the first of a multi-part blog series that directly addresses the proposal by the Trump administration to freeze the fuel economy and greenhouse gas emissions standards for model year 2020 levels until model year 2026.
The new blog series takes an unflinching look at concerns such as the effect of gasoline prices on fuel economy standards, assumptions about greenhouse gas emissions and other air pollutants, and the possible use of a safety valve if there is concern over high costs of meeting the standards.
The first blog is out today: Questions about the Trump Administration’s Cost-Benefit Analysis for its Proposal to Freeze the CAFE Standards.
