WASHINGTON—Researchers at Resources for the Future (RFF) regularly are asked by policymakers and reporters to estimate the impact of a specific carbon tax price path on future carbon dioxide emissions. Normally, to project future emissions under a carbon tax, RFF utilizes a large-scale, computable general equilibrium (CGE) model of the US economy—the Goulder-Hafstead Energy-Environment-Economy (E3) CGE Model.

Now, to make information as accessible as possible about the impact of carbon taxes, Dr. Marc Hafstead has devised a simple-to-use carbon tax calculator. Find the link to the carbon tax calculator in his new blog post—Introducing the E3 Carbon Tax Calculator: Estimating Future CO2 Emissions and Revenues.
