The project held its fourth workshop, on "Mechanisms for Improved Access and Sharing of Food
Safety Information" on March 2, 2007 in Washington, DC. For more

Meetings. The project held its third workshop, on "The Research Community's Role in Collection, Access, and Sharing of Food Safety Information" on February 1, 2007 in Baltimore, MD. For more information, including handouts, see Events and Meetings. On December 13, 2006, we held the second project workshop, on "Industry Interests and Issues" in Washington, DC. We previously held a workshop on "Public Sector Food Safety Data Collection, Access, and Sharing" on November 2-3, 2006 in Atlanta, GA, as well as a an initial project briefing on early findings, key issues, and opportunities, on June 14, 2006, in Washington, DC. This project is the first phase of a necessarily long-term effort to address the many scientific, technical, legal, policy and business issues that currently affect how food safety data are collected, made accessible, and actively shared in the United States.
