Richard L. Bernknopf

Nonresident Fellow

Richard L. Bernknopf is a research professor in the Department of Economics at the University of New Mexico and a nonresident fellow at Resources for the Future in Washington, DC. In addition, he is the director of the Science Impact Laboratory for Policy and Economics at the University of New Mexico. Before joining the faculty at UNM, Dr. Bernknopf was an economist with the United States Geological Survey for more than thirty-eight years. Dr. Bernknopf's research focuses on the demonstration of the economic value of earth observation and the translation of that data into a form compatible with decisionmaking processes.
