Christy Zhou is an assistant professor of economics at Clemson University. Her current research focuses on energy efficiency in vehicle markets, technological changes in energy efficiency, and the impact of environmental policies on energy-efficient technological change. Zhou’s current work examines how gasoline taxes, research and development subsides, and market competition affect fuel efficiency and private welfare through the channel of technology improvements. Her work also focuses on the market incentives for the adoption of fuel-saving technologies, consumers’ valuation of fuel economy, and diffusion of fuel-saving technologies.
