Energy 2050

The Energy 2050 briefing series, organized by Resources for the Future, GLOBE USA (Global Legislators Organization for a Balanced Environment USA), and the Henry M. Jackson Foundation, explores policy options and strategies to address America's energy needs to the year 2050.

Organized by the primary resources that fuel our transportation and electric power sectors, these briefings consider how this country can promote a more secure and environmentally benign energy supply and improve energy efficiency.

Each event focuses on a different energy source and brings together legislators, scholars, and representatives from the corporate and public sectors. Detailed information about dates and speakers will be announced as it becomes available.

Resources for the Future

Resources for the Future (RFF), an independent and nonpartisan think tank, improves environmental, energy, and natural resource policymaking worldwide through objective research--rooted primarily in economics and other social sciences--of the highest caliber. Although RFF is headquartered in Washington, DC, its research scope comprises programs in countries around the world.

RFF Logo

For more than 50 years, RFF has pioneered the application of the social sciences to develop more effective policy about the use and conservation of natural resources. Its scholars continue to analyze critical issues concerning energy policy, pollution control, land and water use, hazardous waste, climate change, biodiversity, and the environmental challenges of developing countries.

GLOBE USA

GLOBE USA is a voluntary, nonpartisan association of senators and representatives from the U.S. Congress promoting balanced and informed policy decisions to solve the world's most pressing environmental concerns. It is the U.S. affiliate of Global Legislators Organization for a Balanced Environment (GLOBE), a worldwide network of environmentally concerned legislators from more than 50 countries.

GLOBE USA seeks solutions to critical, global environmental problems by lending a congressional voice to the contemporary debate over those problems, highlighting emerging issues, urging effective action by congressional and private sector leaders, and offering alternative approaches when none are readily apparent.

Henry M. Jackson Foundation

The Henry M. Jackson Foundation is guided by the principles, values, and interests of the late Senator Henry M. Jackson.

His emphasis on the need for objective analysis, making informed policy choices, and taking a longer term view is reflected in all of the Foundation's work. The Foundation seeks to promote dialogue between the academic and policy worlds, between the public and private sectors, and between citizens and their government.
