RFF Welcomes Two New Fellows in Fall 2014
WASHINGTON—Resources for the Future (RFF) will welcome Kailin Kroetz and Ben Leard as new fellows in the fall of 2014.
"Kailin and Ben bring impressive academic achievement and will enhance and expand the depth and breadth of RFF's research portfolio," said RFF Vice President for Research and Senior Fellow Molly Macauley. "They were selected from a highly competitive field of the nation's top scholars in environmental and natural resource economics and we are delighted to welcome them to RFF."
Kailin Kroetz joins RFF from the University of California, Davis, where she will receive a PhD in agricultural and resource economics in June. She has been exploring topics in marine resource economics and population biology, as well as natural resource and environmental economics and econometrics. Kroetz has worked as a project consultant to the Environmental Defense Fund and the Maryland Department of Natural Resources, and holds a BA in mathematics and environmental studies from Dartmouth College.
Ben Leard is currently an applied economics and management PhD candidate at Cornell University, and has received a BS in mathematics and economics from James Madison University. His research has focused on issues in transportation and resource economics and applied econometrics, including allowance banking in emissions trading programs and energy allocation. Leard's work has been previously featured in Environmental and Resource Economics and Natural Resource Modeling.
