This Chatham House Rule, virtual-only event focused on the current state of carbon pricing in Canada, and how this policy space interacted with the federal election earlier this year. While Prime Minister Carney zeroed-out the federal consumer carbon price after taking office, the industrial system remains in tact, as do provincial systems. This panel examined how carbon pricing factored into the election campaign, which of those programs was doing the heavy lifting, and the role NGOs trying to defend the price played.
