On March 4, 2020, Resources for the Future (RFF) hosted a Policy Leadership Series event with former US Energy Secretary Ernest Moniz on global energy and climate policy. In a conversation moderated by RFF President Richard G. Newell, Moniz discussed a range of topics, such as ongoing international climate negotiations, his proposal for a “Green Real Deal," and new and existing technological innovations that could help to mitigate carbon emissions and climate change. Moniz is the founder and CEO of the Energy Futures Initiative, a nonprofit clean energy think tank dedicated to advancing solutions to climate change.
