"To be sure, the benefits of regulations are spread across society and are essentially theoretical, while the industry costs are measured in hard dollars. But the research could prove timely for congressional Democrats, who want to challenge the Trump administration's deregulatory agenda, said lead author Alan Krupnick, a senior fellow at RFF. 'They certainly could hold hearings on these regulatory rollback activities and on the executive orders that are guiding a lot of these effort — the emphasis on reducing the cost to industry without factoring in the cost in human health and environmental damages,' said Krupnick."
