E&E News/POLITICO: "California Home Prices Drop When Fire Risks Disclosed—Report"
New RFF research on the relationship between home prices and wildfire risk disclosure in California was the subject of both a news story and newsletter segment.
"Wildfire risks — and a California law that requires home sellers to disclose those risks — are driving down the price of home sales in some parts of California.
New research found that California home sales where the sellers disclosed wildfire risk sold for 4.3 percent less than similar homes that didn’t have to address it. That's according to a report released Thursday by researchers from Resources for the Future and the University of Kentucky."
