In this letter to the editor in response to a February 15 article about "superbugs" Ramanan Laxminarayan agrees that requiring hospitals to report MRSA infections is important but they must have an incentive to provide accurate data. He suggests that if subsidies were available for testing patients for MRSA, better infection control could be achieved.
