2026 Carbon Pricing Dialogue
Details
On February 24, 2026, RFF held a hybrid Carbon Pricing Dialogue, an annual convening bringing together members of a diverse network. This event featured three panels that highlighted carbon pricing and affordability, carbon pricing in hard-to-abate sectors, and carbon pricing around the world.
The day-long Dialogue also included virtual and in-person breakout sessions to harness a wider breadth of perspectives from the network. These breakout sessions focused on the core questions motivating our efforts: What would it take to get a carbon price in the US, and what can the groups assembled in this network do to bring that end forward? Though there was overlap, each group went in distinctly different directions, highlighting the importance of assembling a diverse array of voices and giving them the opportunity to share their perspectives.
The day closed with a networking hour to encourage relationship-building across differences. As evidenced by follow-up conversations with participants and multiple requests for connections, participants found the unstructured conversations throughout the day particularly valuable and found great value in the breadth of perspectives brought to the Dialogue.
