Shannon Wulf Tregar

Vice President for Development and Institutional Strategy

As Vice President for Development and Institutional Strategy, Shannon Wulf Tregar works with RFF’s executive leadership, Board, staff, and partners to support and advance RFF’s priorities and strategy. She manages RFF’s Development team and strategic projects staff, providing the vision and direction for RFF’s fundraising and donor engagement. She also serves as corporate secretary to RFF’s Board of Directors and oversees other partnership groups such as RFF’s President’s Council. Shannon specializes in developing, implementing, and resourcing organizational strategy and partnerships, building best practices for nonprofit governance, and ensuring institutional priorities deliver value to supporters and partners.

Shannon has served a variety of roles since joining RFF in 2011. Most recently, she was the Chief of Staff, working to develop and advance RFF’s complex strategic priorities and processes, and improve efficiencies throughout the organization. Prior to that, she was RFF’s Deputy Director for Government and Public Affairs, developing and implementing plans for the organization’s communications and stakeholder engagement.

Previously, Shannon served as a strategic communications consultant for the US Department of Homeland Security. Before moving to Washington, DC, Shannon lived in Arizona where she managed large-scale international partnerships and initiatives for the Office of the President at Arizona State University, and led Mexico and Latin America policy initiatives for the Governor of Arizona and the Arizona-Mexico Commission.

In her free time, Shannon enjoys traveling, camping, and exploring the outdoors with her husband and two sons.
