Event Details

2022 saw major strides in climate policy in the US and around the world. However, with many of the past year's policies yet to be implemented and with new areas of policy focus emerging, 2023 is promising to be just as dynamic. So, which climate, energy, and environmental issues will dominate the headlines in 2023, and where will we see policy breakthroughs?

On Wednesday, January 18, Resources for the Future (RFF) hosted our annual Big Decisions event exploring the biggest priorities in climate, energy, and the environment likely to see major action in the year ahead. Our panel of experts across policymaking, academia, and journalism examined some of the biggest issues likely to see action in 2023, including infrastructure and implementation of the Inflation Reduction Act and Bipartisan Infrastructure Law; permitting reform and financing; the 2023 Farm Bill; and federal regulation including the EPA tailpipe rule, power plant rule, and the future of SEC regulation.
