Climate Week NYC is a large, multi-event gathering held in New York City and hosted by the Climate Group, an international nonprofit whose purpose is to drive climate action, fast. This year RFF will host four events and participate in several others to share our research and policy insights and have critical conversations about the future of climate and energy goals.

Federal Climate-Trade Legislation: Designs, Options, and Decisions

September 22, 2025 | 9–10:30 a.m. ET

A public event co-hosted by C2ES and Resources for the Future (RFF) entitled “Federal Climate-Trade Legislation: Designs, Options, and Decisions.” This event will feature a welcome from Covington; a presentation from RFF on our Foreign Pollution Fee Act modeling; a panel discussion of future federal climate-aligned trade policy opportunities, and interactive Q&A with the audience. This event will be in-person only and under Chatham House rule.

Compatibility & Challenges of Carbon Accounting and Carbon Border Measures

September 22, 2025 | 11:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. ET

An invite-only, in-person only roundtable co-hosted by C2ES and RFF entitled “Compatibility & Challenges of Carbon Accounting and Carbon Border Measures.” This event seeks to unite countries and companies impacted by carbon border adjustment measures to discuss interoperability and compatibility with CBAMs; talk through high-level challenges; and bridge the gap between technical and political considerations.

From Assessment to Action: Navigating Utility Climate Resilience

September 22, 2025 | 12:00–3:00 p.m. ET

An invite-only roundtable co-hosted by Duke Energy and RFF. This in-person only discussion will bring together a diverse group of thought leaders from utility companies, NGOs, industry, and government. Duke Energy will share insights from its long-term and mid-term resiliency planning, including recent studies on exposure, risk, and vulnerability to the physical impacts of climate change. Participants will share transferable lessons and practical recommendations and explore actionable strategies for advancing weather-resilient practices and technologies across sectors.

Identifying Macroeconomic Risks from Climate Change and the Energy Transition: The Climate-related Financial and Macroeconomic Risk Initiative

September 23, 2025 | 12:00–7:00 p.m. ET

The panel will discuss what is known about climate-related financial and macroeconomic risks and what remains unknown. These risks include physical risks from climate change and cascading risk in which a significant but isolated climate event could exacerbate existing financial system weaknesses, potentially leading to systemic risk. The group will also discuss transition risks from uncertain and variable policy and from geopolitical stresses arising from the energy transition.
